Kaur Institute of Disasters Studies conducted its first Emergency Preparedness Workshop at the Sikh Temple, Gurdwara Singh Sabha – Buena Park, CA on the 29th of September 2019. The culturally and linguistically tailored workshop covered various topics like introduction to emergency preparedness, how to be better prepared for disasters, why is it important to be mindful of the vulnerable members of the community during a crisis, what to do in an active shooter situations and how to develop and maintain an Emergency Action Plan for the Gurdwara.
